Rostelecom is developing a control system for drones

Rostelecom Company has launched a project aimed at creation of a control system for unmanned aerial vehicles, i.e. drones. The fund of the project is 100 mln rubles.

It has been announced that the program will work with ERA GLONASS system meant to evaluate damage, discover the reason of casualty and emergency call (ambulance, police).

Rostelecom has reported that the future control system will comprise usual and unmanned transport (land and water) but GLONASS representative hasn’t confirmed the rumors. According to her, the program is aimed at cars’ control only.

The system will expand in the period from 2018 to 2020 with UAVs being gradually implemented in our lives. It is planned that in the end it will cover the whole territory of the country.

By the way, drone was first used in Stavropol Krai for detecting breaches of law and transferring information to Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety. Inspectors stopped law breakers and made a report.
