Toyota drone-car stayed in the air just for several seconds

Startup Cartivator, which creates flying cars for Toyota, demonstrated the current state of a drone-like vehicle.

Currently, the device looks like a metal framing with four coaxial twin propellers and wheels. During the presentation, it took off the ground to the height of one meter and fell in several seconds. It was caused by a disconnected part that damaged one propeller.

Toyota wants to create a flying car for the Summer Olympic Games that will take place in Tokyo in 2020. There are plans to take a sportsman in the air with its help to light the torch at the opening ceremony. The corporation invested $370 thousand in Cartivator for this purpose.
