As reported by Greentech Media, Amazon has patented a new product – a drone that can charge electric cars on the move.
According to the publishing, the application was submitted three years ago, as far as in 2014. The developers plan that a drone and an electric car will be connected in one network. As the car battery runs down to a certain level, the system will inform a drone about the vehicle location and needed quantity of energy.
The drone latches onto the car top and infuses a battery with energy. No matter moves it or not. No actions of the driver are needed since the drone is completely autonomous.
The invention has been designed to lower the load on charging stations and help drivers stuck in traffic with a run-down battery.
