Amazon has applied for a patent for a tower drone hub

Amazon wants to patent a drone delivery tower. A corresponding application was filed to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

It describes the operational principles of the multilevel tower that will serve as a hub for drones. Inside it, cargos will be sorted out according to orders and afterward quadcopters will be able to do the delivery.

Amazon expects such towers to be very efficient in big cities. Previously, the company was developing the concept of drone delivery airship. In total, Amazon submitted 78 patent application in the field of logistics in 2016.
